Planet Discover Promotes Talty to Vice President, Sales
FT. MITCHELL, KY (November 1, 2007) – Planet Discover has promoted Brian Talty to vice president, sales. Talty is responsible for growing revenue and increasing the company's client base within the media industry.
His focus will be on helping prospects leverage local search, while building strong user communities, and generating substantial advertising revenue through Planet Discover's search solutions.
Talty will also seek to expand the company's reach within existing client sites by promoting advanced functionality that integrates seamlessly with Planet Discover's local search application. Another goal will be educating prospects and current clients on best practices and industry standards within the local search-media sector.
"Brian brings a wealth of experience to this role, and we're excited to help media companies in their efforts to generate revenue and expand their online presence through local search," said David Lenzen, Planet Discover senior vice president. "Brian's new position confirms our commitment to local search among our current clients, as well as untapped markets."
Talty previously served as director of client services at Planet Discover, where he oversaw client service activities and managed client service personnel. As a three-year employee of Planet Discover, Talty started in account management and gained an in-depth understanding of both client needs and Planet Discover offerings. This solid foundation allows Talty to effectively align client expectations with company abilities, while delivering results for the company's customers.
Before Planet Discover, Talty spent 15 years in sales. Four of those years were spent at the Web-based company e-college.com, a niche application services provider. Earlier, Talty worked for Thomas Register in online advertising and for Dun & Bradstreet.
