Planet Discover Forms Market Development Group Focused on Clients-Branding, Local Search Positioning and Optimizing Advertising
Stanley Gauss named company's first VP of Market Development
FT. MITCHELL, KY (January 24, 2007) – Planet Discover has formed a Market Development Group (MDG) with the goal of assisting its newspaper and media industry clients with search marketing and increasing revenue from online advertising opportunities.
Stanley Gauss will serve as the company's first Vice President of Market Development.
MDG will work with existing and new Planet Discover clients to help grow their local search initiatives and to attain their online revenue goals. The group will guide clients in increasing consumer usage of local search, developing and configuring advertising products, educating and training sales force, and assisting with generating revenue.

MDG will help clients build relationships with advertisers and consumers, by assisting local markets in the following areas:
- Defining local search advertising products, including products, price points, and distribution strategies.
- Helping clients grow consumer usage of local search and providing them with best marketing practices, successful campaign models, and consulting services.
- Working with local client marketing teams to help increase advertiser awareness of local search advertising products.
- Collaborating with market sales management to develop sales channel strategies and to attain their local online sales goals.
- Assisting in the creation of standard sales collateral and presentations and providing in-person and online sales training.

Stanley Gauss has more than 12 years of management experience in business development, advertising, sales, and the marketing of online sites for various newspaper and media organizations. Gauss's expertise is in the areas of marketing planning and execution, strategic sales, and business analysis. Specifically, he has extensive experience in designing and delivering comprehensive marketing and sales initiatives, in creating demand for new products, in identifying and targeting niche markets, and in surpassing goals to get results.
Most recently, as Online General Manager of The Press of Atlantic City, Gauss developed and executed a successful three-year strategic plan, increasing brand awareness, audience three-fold, traffic four-fold, and revenue ten-fold. His management style encourages individual contribution while promoting collaborative working relationships across organizational boundaries.
