In fact, comScore reports that online searches that include the keyword “coupon” increased 161% to 19.9 million in December 2008 compared to the same period in 2007. Through this offering, advertisers receive up to three deals that rotate in this space based on their activation dates. Marketing Center, the Planet Discover self-service interface, allows advertisers to manage deal content and activation dates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In the Recordonline.com implementation, a feed is generated from the Planet Discover system and sent automatically to Recordonline.com to ensure the site is displaying up–to–date deal content.
In addition to local coupons, a number of sites also offer national coupons and deals. Programs like this demonstrate the value for local business owners and local consumers.
